Hello!
Thank you so much for visiting my website! My name is Melanie Reincke. I am a special education teacher at Trimpe Middle School. I graduated from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a B.S. in Special Education, Learning Behavior Specialist 1, in 2018. I have taught for the past few years around the Springfield area, but now have moved back closer to my family. I am also a Golden Apple Scholar and have taught in summer schools in schools of need all across Illinois. Teaching is my passion. I always knew I wanted to become a teacher since I was in elementary school. So many amazing teachers had made an impact on my life and brought me so much joy and confidence in myself. I would often make the kids in my after school program be "my students" as I read to them and created worksheets for them to complete. I later realized teaching special education was my calling. Disability has always been a part of my family's life. Both of my grandparents on my father's side were blind since childhood and I had always had a special relationship with them. When I was in high school, I started babysitting a child with Down Syndrome and volunteering with Special Olympics. I realized I was meant to become a special education teacher. I knew I wanted to spend my life dedicated to empowering children with disabilities by teaching them the skills they need to reach their dreams. I became a teacher to help each student realize that they belong, they have a purpose, and they can achieve their goals. I strive to advocate, support, and hold high standards for my students. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through email, phone, or Class Dojo! :) |
